This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Résumé

This Decree, consisting of 18 articles, regulates within the scope of the State Department of Justice and Human Rights (SEJUDH), the State Indigenous Policy Council of the State of Pará (CONSEPI/PA), as a collegiate body of advisory and deliberative character, responsible for the monitoring of public policies directed at the indigenous peoples of the State of Pará. CONSEPI/PA is responsible for performing the following activities: present to the competent federal bodies proposals for public policies directed at the indigenous peoples of the State, in compliance with the legislation in force; monitor the implementation of public policies directed at indigenous peoples, respecting the competence of the Union to dispose on the subject; support the integration and articulation of governmental bodies and non-governmental organizations, members of CONSEPI/PA, that work with indigenous peoples or whose actions may affect them; encourage the implementation and harmonization of specific, differentiated and targeted public policies for indigenous peoples; hold the Regional and State Indigenous Policy Conferences; support the promotion, in articulation with the state organs and indigenist entities, of educational campaigns on indigenous peoples' rights and respect their ethnic and cultural diversity; encourage the holding of events organized by indigenous peoples, especially for the discussion and improvement of the policy proposals addressed to them; monitor the execution of the State budget for public policies directed at indigenous peoples; follow-up actions proposed and developed at the national level that directly or indirectly involve these indigenous peoples; monitor administrative and judicial rulings and decisions that may affect the rights of indigenous peoples, etc.
