Résumé

The controls of the quality of the fruit and vegetable products traded in the internal market are carried out by the AIMA and the Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE); the controls of the products destined to, or originating from third countries pertain to the ICE. To this end an agreement shall be drawn up between the AIMA and the ICE. A commission, consisting of the representatives of the AIMA, of the ICE and the major entrepreneurial organizations (Coldiretti, Confagricoltura and CIA) shall be in charge of the implementation of said agreement. The Decree establishes the requisites to be met in order to obtain the authorization to the activities concerning the classification, packaging, labelling and trade of fruit and vegetable products. Article 8 regulates the procedure to be followed in order to obtain said authorization and lists out all the information to be provided by the applicants. The application shall be examined, within 90 days of the receipt, by a selection committee under the authority of the AIMA established by article 8 paragraph 4. The Decree states also the cases in which the authorization shall by withdrawn. Article 12-bis concerns the establishment of the "Register of operators and importers", under the supervision of the AIMA. The Register of operators is divided into two categories: 1) operators engaged in the consignment and wholesale of the products; 2) operators authorized to the classification, packaging, labelling and trade of the products.
