This Decree approves the Regulation of Plant Health Protection in the State of Paraná. The Regulation, consisting of 77 articles divided into seven Chapters, regulates the State Law No. 11.200 dealing with the definition and norms for plant health surveillance and protection in the State of Paraná. It will be executed by the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (SEAB), the Department of Inspection (DEFIS), the Plant Health Protection (DSV), on natural and juridical persons, subject to trade, import, export, inspection and transit, in the territory of Paraná, of the following products: a) plants and plant parts (such as seedlings, cuttings, forks, branches, rhizomes, roots, tubers, bulbs, seeds, fruits, flowers and leaves); b) insects, mites, nematodes and other pests, at any stage of the life cycle, capable of causing economic damage to plants and their products; c) Bacteria, fungi and viruses when harmful to plants and their products. The provisions of this Decree extend to compounds and plant products which may contain, at any stage of development, the organisms referred to in this Article, whether or not accompanying plants and their products, as well as materials, boxes, sacks and other objects, machinery , agricultural implements and tools used for production, harvesting, transportation, packaging, handling, processing, processing or industrialization.
