Résumé This Decree, consisting of 80 articles divided into 17 Chapters and one Annex, aims at regulating State Law No. 17.491 of 2018, regarding the management and breeding of wild birds of the Brazilian and exotic fauna within the State of Santa Catarina. The management of wild bird of the Brazilian fauna will be in under the responsibility of the Environment Institute of the State of Santa Catarina (IMA), for all activities related to breeding, reproduction, marketing, transaction, maintenance, training, transportation, acquisition, custody, deposit, use and holding of tournaments and exhibitions. Any bird breeder of Brazilian and exotic fauna described in art. 3 of Law 17.491 of 18 January 2018 will depend on the authorization issued by the IMA meeting specific criteria and requirements. The Annex specifies the List of Fauna Considered Domestic Species for IMA Purposes.
