Producers and distributors of aromatizing agents (food additives) must comply with the following mandatory requirements: (a) absence of toxic substances in the amount that can present risks for human health; (b) contents of arsenic shall not exceed 3mg/kg, contents of lead shall not exceed 10mg/kg, contents of cadmium shall not exceed 1 mg/kg and contents of quicksilver shall not exceed 1 mg/kg; and (c) in food ready for consumption with the use of aromatizing agents (food additives) contents of 3,4 benzopyrene shall not exceed 0,03 mg/kg.
