This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Résumé

This Decree creates the Permanent Interministerial Commission for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation, reestablishes the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Legal Amazon (PPCDAm) and deals with the Action Plans for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Cerrado, in the Atlantic Forest, in the Caatinga, in the Pampa and in the Pantanal regions. This Decree: establishes the Permanent Interministerial Commission for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation; reestablishes the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Legal Amazon - PPCDAm; It is provides for the Action Plans for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Cerrado, the Atlantic Forest, the Caatinga, the Pampa and the Pantanal. The purpose of the PPCDAm is to establish inter-ministerial measures and actions to reduce deforestation rates in the Legal Amazon. The PPCDAm will be submitted to the President of the Republic and updated at least annually or when necessary. The Permanent Interministerial Commission for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation, a collegiate body linked to the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic, will define and coordinate interministerial actions to reduce deforestation rates in the national territory. It is incumbent upon the Permanent Interministerial Commission for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation, regarding the Action Plans for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation: evaluate and approve; monitor implementation; propose measures to overcome implementation difficulties; ensure that they act in the development and integration of environmental protection systems; ensure that they contribute to the conservation of biological diversity and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions resulting from deforestation, forest degradation and fires; It is monitor the preparation and implementation of public policies related to the Action Plans, aimed at environmental protection, nature preservation and the country's sustainable development, through actions coordinated with states, the Federal District and municipalities.
