However, this Decree does not apply, inter alia, to certain fishing vessels, the survey of which is subject to separate provisions. In case of doubt, the Finnish Maritime Administration will determine whether this Decree is applicable to the survey of a certain ship or not. The purpose of a survey is to ensure that a ship complies with the requirements of the provisions and regulations concerning ship safety as regards structure, machinery and equipment, and with the provisions and regulations on the prevention of pollution from ships.
