Résumé This Decree-Law aims to contribute to the development, promotion, modernization and protection of tourism resources and to guarantee universal access for the development of tourism activities, improving hospitality, safety and sustainability of the different tourist destinations in Cape Verde. It also aims to promote a quality tourist offer that reinforces and consolidates Cape Verde as a host territory for several tourist markets, eliminating clandestineness and unfair competition. The Decree-Law applies to tourist enterprises that are intended to provide accommodation services, providing for their operation a set of structures, equipment and accommodation services, with or without the provision of complementary services. In particular, it regulates: a) Natural and legal persons who own and/or manage tourist accommodation establishments; b) Agents and professionals working in tourist accommodation establishments; c) Host communities of the tourist destination and/or neighboring tourist accommodation developments; d) Consumers of tourist services. Except for special provisions, this Decree-Law does not apply to housing developments in rural areas.
