Résumé This Decree-Law, consisting of 21 articles divided into four Chapters, regulates the conditions for implementing the food safety measure provided for in Law No. 8/2021 of 3 May, making the first amendment to Law No. 14/2020 of 29 December, on the General State Budget for 2021 and approves the socio-economic support measures, through the purchase of food preferably from national producers for distribution to the most needy people and families. This food security measure, financed by the Covid-19 Fund, has the purpose of acquiring food products and distributing them to the most needy people and families. The measure provided has the following objectives, namely: a) Support and reduce the difficulties of the most needy people and families in meeting their basic food needs; b) Encourage domestic producers; c) Contribute to the improvement of the food and nutritional diet of the most deprived families; d) Promote partial substitution of imports, with economic recovery and growth; e) Stimulate the circulation of beneficial financial resources to boost the national economy.
