It continued to guarantee the permanent adequacy of above said decree-law to the subsequent evolution of community law, in the review of international conventions applicable to the various modes of transport of dangerous goods. With the same objective, the present Decree-Law now transposes Commission Directive (EU) 2018/1846 of 23 November 2018, adapting to the scientific and technical progress for the sixth time the annexes of Directive No. 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and the Council, on the inland transport of dangerous goods, introducing the appropriate modifications in annexes I and II of Decree-Law No. 41-A/2010 of 29 April in its current wording. Appendix IV is also updated, in accordance with the current terminology, as well as Article 13, in line with that terminology. Decree-Law No. 108/2018 of 3 December establishing the legal regime for radiological protection, as well as the powers of the competent authority and the inspection authority for radiological protection, determines that the Portuguese Environment Agency, IP, is the competent authority that succeeds in the powers and competences of the national authorities in the scope of radiological protection.
