The Statute of the aforementioned Service consists of 5 chapters establishing the composition, duties and competencies of this Service, the aim of which is to manage, collect and treat water resources in order to guarantee water supply for public uses within the following Municipalities: Alvaiázere, Castanheira de Pêra, Castelo Branco, Ferreira do Zêzere, Figueiró dos Vinhos, Idanha-a-Nova, Oleiros, Pampilhosa da Serra, Pedrógão Grande, Proença-a-Nova, Sertã, Tomar e Vila Velha de Ródão. System management and exploitation shall be given to a water board (at least 51% national participation) in concession regime for a 30 years duration.
