This Decree-Law enters into force 90 days after its publication.
Résumé

This Decree-Law, consisting of 7 Chapters, creates the legal regimes applicable to the production of electricity destined to self-consumption and to the sale to electric public network originating from renewable resources, through Small Production Units. This Decree-Law establishes the legal regime applicable to the production of electricity, intended for self-consumption in facilities associated with the respective production unit, with or without connection to the public electricity grid based on renewable or non-renewable production technologies, so called Self-consumption Production Units (UPAC). It also establishes the legal regime applicable to the production of electricity sold to the electric utility grid (RESP), through installations of small power plants from renewable resources, so called Small Production Units (UPPs).
