Résumé This Decree-Law, consisting of 53 articles divided into six Chapters and two Annexes, approves the general regime for the installation, licensing and exploitation of aquaculture and related production establishments located on inland and in the marine water of Cape Verde. It applies to all natural or legal persons engaged in aquaculture and mariculture production establishments, including the related establishments located in private property, in the private domain of the State, public domain of the State and of local authorities. The provisions of this law are not applicable for the cultivation of marine organisms or for the holding of aquaculture species in captivity for exclusive didactic, technical or scientific purposes. These aquaculture production establishments located on land and at sea, as well as the installation of related establishments, located on private property and public domain spaces are subject to the following conditions: a) Application for authorization to install an aquaculture production establishment; and b) Application for the licensing of aquaculture production establishment.
