It defines measures and implementing actions for the National Forest Protection System with the view of an effective prevention and management of forest fires. In particular, the Decree-Law regulates necessary fire prevention planning activities, zoning of the vulnerable areas. Moreover it provides an organizational framework for forestry planning at both national and local levels. Finally, it regulates fire control and monitoring activities as well as relevant sanctions.
