This Decree-Law enters into force on the day afters its publication.
Résumé

This Decree-Law approves the Statute of the Agency for the Integrated Management of Rural Fire (AGIF). The reformulation of the principles for the forest fire protection system, which reflects the current concept of Protection of the Forest against Fire (DFCI) for Protection of Rural Fire (DCIR), is based on the Integrated Management System for Rural Fire (SGIFR), aimed at the protection and sustainability of forest areas (GFR), and for the safeguarding of people and property (Rural Fire Protection - PCIR). AGIF, IP, has as its mission the strategic planning and coordination and evaluation of the Integrated Management of Rural Fire Management System (SGIFR), through the integration of public policies with effects on the accumulation of vegetal fuel, the behavior of the population and the activity of the agents, the planning, control and evaluation of the system, including knowledge management, promotion of the specialization and professionalization of SGIFR agents, evaluation of operations and qualified intervention in high risk events, with the objective of contribute to increase the level of protection of people and property and the resilience of the country to rural fires and reducing their impact on the ecosystems and the economic and social development of the country.
