Résumé

This Decision, based on the provisions of the Law on strategic investment projects of the Republic of Croatia, upon the received proposal from the Commission for the evaluation and determination of strategic project proposals, declares the project entitled "Hydropower system Kosinj" as a strategic investment project of the Republic of Croatia. This project (public investment) includes the construction of the Kosinj Reservoir with Kosinj, Sedlo and Bakovac dams, injection curtains, Kosinj hydropower plants with accompanying facilities, reconstruction of the existing Sklope hydropower plant, construction of replacement roads and connection to the electricity transmission network. The goal and effects of this project are to increase electricity production. The construction of the Kosinj Reservoir is expected to increase the level of utilization of water quantities in the Lika and Gacka rivers by reducing overflow losses. This achieves a high level of flood protection in the downstream area, Lipovo polje and Kosinj valley, which in the current flood conditions almost every year.
