Résumé

This Decree of the Government specified criteria for the delimitation of “mountain areas” in the sense of the Mountain Law. Mountain areas are areas where use of lands is costly due to the climatic conditions determined by altitudes of more than six-hundred metres, or, on lower altitudes of slopes of more than twenty degrees, slopes that are to steep for agricultural use or require expensive equipment for proper use. Land may also be classified as mountain area if there exists a combination of factors mentioned above where the disadvantage of each factor combined is less serious, but the combination of the factors results in an equivalent disadvantage. Article 2 requires the Minister of Agriculture to issue, within six months, an Order for the delimitation of mountain areas at municipal and component village level. The delimitation of mountain areas shall be registered in agricultural books of municipalities in mountain areas and to be transposed in specialized land improvement plans. (2 articles)
