Résumé This Decision creates the National Commission for Combating Food Waste (CNCDA), which works with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Commission entitled to promote the reduction of food waste through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach. CNCDA pursues the following objectives: a) carry out the diagnosis, assessment and monitoring of food waste at national level; b) identify the good practices existing at national and international level in the context of combating food waste; c) put in place indicators for measuring food waste, in the different stages of the food chain, according to the methodologies applied at the level of the European Union and OECD; d) promote the involvement of civil society entities with initiatives developed in this area; e) promote the creation and development of an electronic platform that ensures the interactive management of food goods at risk of waste; f) propose measures to reduce food waste that integrate objectives of food security, school education, public health, combating poverty and good practices in production, the agri-food industry, distribution and consumption. CNCDA in addition is responsible for preparing the National Strategy to Combat Food Waste (ENCDA) and an Action Plan to Combat Food Waste (PACDA).
