For the purpose of ensuring its revision, this Regulation expires on 31 December 2017. Résumé This Regulation consists of 83 sections divided into 6 Parts. It regulates several aspects of the dairy industry and includes provisions on licences (Part 1), milk production and transportation (Part 2), product standards (Part 3) and processing (Part 4). The Regulation sets standards for, among others, the construction and maintenance of dairy barns, milk parlours and milk houses; milking operation; products’ handling; dairy plants; thermal processing and sampling, testing and standards for dairy products. Sections 37 and 38 contain provisions on the care of dairy animals. The Regulation is completed by 3 schedules (Minimum thermal processing parameters for batch and HTST pasteurizers, Standards for raw milk and farm-separated cream and Bacteria standards for dairy products).
