It establishes monetary fines for 29 different types of noise violations under the following laws and regulations: Abatement of Nuisances Law, 1961, Abatement of Nuisances Regulations (Unreasonable Noise), 1990, Abatement of Nuisances (Unreasonable Noise from Construction Equipment) Regulations, 1979, and Abatement of Nuisance Regulations (Prevention of Noise), 1992. The order provides for the imposition of fines on people generating noise in public places. Higher fines are set for corporations and for repeated offenses within a two-year period.
