Résumé The purpose of this Act is to safeguard consumer rights. This Acts regulates the offering and sale, or marketing in any other manner, of goods or services to consumers by traders, determines the rights of consumers as the purchasers or users of goods or services, and provides for the organisation and supervision of consumer protection and liability for violations of this Act. This Act also applies if traders arrange for the transfer of goods or provision of services to consumers. Consumers have the right to obtain information on the safety of goods and services offered as well as on aspects concerning protection of health, property and economic interests. Information provided to consumers shall be truthful, understandable and in Estonian. The labelling of goods or on the packaging of goods or the label attached to goods offered or sold to consumers shall be legible, understandable and unambiguous and shall meet all the requirements established for the labelling of such goods. A consumer association is a voluntary association of persons the objective of the activities of which is to protect and promote the interests and rights of consumers.
