Such importation shall be permitted provided that all animals originate in countries free from Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Rinderpest and Anthrax. The animals must also have been slaughtered at approved abattoirs as per regulations 2 and 3. Regulation 4 concerns the transport of meat and specifies the documents which must accompany the consignments, including a veterinary health certificate and a meat inspection certificate.
