Entry into force notes
The Regulation enters into force on 15 June 2001. However, articles 10 and 11 take effect on 30 June 2001 and articles 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9 are applicable from 1 September 2001.
Résumé

This Regulation aims at the recovery of the stock of hake in the ICES sub-areas and divisions specified in article 1. Subsequently, the provisions hereby established shall apply solely to fishing vessels operating within such sub-areas and divisions. Articles 3 and 4 determine the nets which shall not be used. Article 6 concerns observers on board. Member States shall submit to the Commission a report on the activities and findings of the observers assigned to Community vessels. It shall be prohibited to retain on board a Community fishing vessel any quantity of hake mixed or in association with any other species of marine organism. Articles 12 and 13 deal with landing. Three Annexes are attached. Annex I contains a cartography of the fishing zones delimited under article 5 in which certain nets may not be deployed.
