Résumé This Act seeks to grant the Central Government the right, title and interest of the coal mines specified in the Schedule of the Act and states that the government shall make payments as mentioned in the Act to the former owners of the coal mines. The Act also contains provisions on the management of coal mines, appointment of a Commissioner of Payments who shall have the power to hear claims of coal mines owners against non-payment by the government. Additionally, the Act lists out the penalties for violation of provisions of this Act.
