This Circular enters into force on 1 February 2015.
Résumé

This Circular, consisting of 21 articles divided into eight Chapters, provides for the activities related to the production, trading, announcement and labelling of, and provision of use instructions for, functional food, including supplemented food, health supplements/food supplements/dietary supplements and medical food (food for special medical purposes), and also food for special dietary uses. This Circular does not apply to infant formulas. The production, trading, announcement and labelling of, and provision of use instructions for, infant formulas must comply with relevant technical regulations and the provisions on trading and use of infant formulas. The Circular is divided as follows: General Provisions (Chap. I); General Requirements for Functional Food (Chap. II); Requirements on Supplemented Food (Chap. III); Requirements on Health Supplements (Chap. IV); Requirements on Medical Food and Food for Special Dietary Uses (Chap. V); Conditions for Production and Trading of, and Use Instructions for, Functional Food (Chap. VI); Recall and Disposal of Unsafe Functional Food (Chap. VII); Implementation Provisions (Chap. VIII).
