Résumé

The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the introduction and spreading of tuberculosis among cattle. The Ordinance applies also to goats kept together with cattle. According to the Commission Decision 2003/467/EC establishing the official tuberculosis, brucellosis, and enzootic-bovine-leucosis-free status of certain Member States and regions of Member States as regards bovine herds of 23 June 2003, Austria belongs to Member States declared officially free of tuberculosis, brucellosis and bovine leucosis. Therefore, all slaughtered animals not destined for human consumption shall be examined by the competent local veterinary. The text – consisting of 16 articles – deals with the following matters: sphere of application, definition of terms, reporting of suspected disease, measures to be adopted in case of an outbreak of tuberculosis, quarantine, duties of animal keepers and entry into force. Four Annexes are enclosed.
