Public pounds shall continue in existence under this Act and shall be controlled by the Minister who shall appoint a pound keeper. It shall be lawful for the proprietor, possessor or person in charge of an estate to capture trespassing cattle and to send it to a public pound (sect. 6). The pound keeper shall notify the owner of an animal that is impounded. Poundage fees shall be paid by the owner of the animal. Cattle trespassing on private grounds may also be impounded there.
