The request of owners shall be made in the form of a petition to which objections may be raised by other owners in the same area. From and after the date upon which this Act comes into operation within any declared area, all owners of cattle within such area shall clean (defined in section 2) their cattle at such intervals as may be prescribed. Remaining provisions of this Act deal with: powers of inspectors and penalty for hindering in execution of duties (sect. 9), penalty on failure to clean cattle at prescribed intervals (sect. 10), temporary exemption by Director of Veterinary Services (sect. 11), facilities to be provided by owners in respect of cattle (sect. 12), Government may act on behalf of absentee owners (sect. 13), prescribed standard for Tick destroying agent (sect. 14), certificate of analyst as evidence (sect. 15), prohibition on movement of cattle into declared area without permit (sect. 16), regulation making powers of the Minister (sect. 17), general penalty (sect. 18).
