It implements various federal laws and ordinances on the subject-matter. The Cantonal Council shall be in charge of the enforcing organization. Furthermore, it can also grant subsidies. In particular, the Canton shall agree with third parties the setting up of an efficient infrastructure dealing with animal waste. To this end local authorities shall designate special areas dedicated to the collection of animal waste. A special Animal Pest Fund shall be established for the fight against animal diseases. It shall ensure the payment of costs relating to waste disposal, to labor exams, to sampling, etc. The compulsory insurance for animals expires with this Ordinance.
