Résumé

This Chapter of the California Food and Agricultural Code, known as the Winegrape Pest and Disease Control District Law, provides for winegrape pest and disease control in California. The purpose of the Chapter is to make available a procedure for the organization, operation, government, and dissolution of districts to respond to, manage, and control the effects of the spread of the phylloxera pest, and other pests that attack winegrape plants, and to collect and disseminate to winegrape producers in the district all relevant information and scientific studies concerning the pest or pests, as well as to chart and determine the extent and location of any infestations. More specifically, the Chapter provides for formation of the districts; organization of the districts; powers and duties of the districts; levy of assessments for district purposes; inclusion of lands in the districts; consolidation of the districts; and dissolution of the districts.
