Résumé

The Act establishes the Border Management Authority as a public entity and an armed service, to function within the border law enforcement area and at ports of entry. The functions of the Authority include to facilitate and manage the legitimate movement of persons and goods within the border law enforcement area and ports of entry and cooperate and coordinate its border law enforcement functions with other organs of the state, border communities or any other persons. The Act aims to establish the Authority to achieve integrated border law enforcement and cooperation on and coordination of border management matters. The Act has extensive provisions on the composition of the Authority and the functions and terms of office of key officers. The Authority has powers of entry, search, seizure, arrest and detention, on reasonable grounds.
