Résumé The main tasks of the Soviet water legislation are the regulation of water relationship for the purpose of ensuring rational use of water for the needs of the population and national economy, pollution control of water, protection from choking up and exhaustion, prevention and liquidation of hazardous impact of water, improvement of the state of water basins, and protection of the rights of enterprises, organizations, departments and citizens and strengthening of legality in the field of water relations. The document consists of V Sections that contain 46 Articles. Section I lays down the general provisions. Section II regards water uses. Section III deals with water protection and prevention of hazardous impact of water. Section IV concerns state registration and water use planning.
