Résumé The present Regulations are made under the Agri-Food Act. In particular, section 3 establishes that the Saskatchewan Barley Development Plan is established. The purpose of the plan is to develop the barley industry in Saskatchewan. The specific purposes of the plan are, inter alia, to:(a) assist in the development and promotion of Saskatchewan-grown barley in the domestic and international marketplaces; b) conduct and encourage research on production, market development, processing and consumption of barley; c) advise governments on matters pertaining to barley policy, research and development; d) gather, compile and distribute information related to the production, promotion, consumption, market development and policy initiatives of barley; e) encourage the production of uniformly high quality barley; f) encourage communication within the barley industry.
