The functions of the Board shall be as follows: (a) assist primary cooperative societies, rural development teams and upazila central cooperative societies or thana central cooperative societies or thana central cooperative societies at the village level to become self-governing and economically sustainable driving forces under their own management for the purpose of increasing production; employment and rural development; (b) encourage primary cooperative societies and rural development groups to increase the income of the poor people of the village and to encourage employment; make maximum use of irrigation facilities depending on ground and surface water through the formation of rural development teams; (d) ensure productive use of institutional loans through cooperative societies, upazila central cooperative societies or thana central cooperative societies and rural development teams; and to help the members of that society or party increase the amount of shares and savings deposited; the objective is to encourage the adoption of multi-pronged activities, in particular, the marketing of agricultural products;( c) to provide fruitful training to rural development teams and members of the management committee of upazila central cooperative societies or thana central cooperative societies and ideal farmers in agricultural and rural development activities; services to rural development teams and upazila central cooperative societies or thana central cooperative societies, To maintain communication and coordination with the concerned ministries, divisions and agencies to provide supply and cooperation; (j) to encourage the district and national federations of upazila central cooperative societies or thana central cooperative societies to progressively conduct development, incentives and educational activities related to rural development;(z) to assign necessary financial and administrative powers to thana, upazila, district and division level employees to achieve the objectives and goals of the board; (j) prepare the annual development program of the board; (t) prepare or approve the annual budget as the case may be, in accordance with the provisions of section 12; (l) present to the Government projects, programs and rural development models consistent with rural development and implement them with the approval of the Government; (d) to study or evaluate the progress of the implementation of the projects and programs taken by the Board and the problems arising from them, and whether the goals of such projects and programs have been achieved; etc. Without prejudice to the totality of the provisions of sub-section (1), the Board may perform its functions: (a) perform any function within the budget allocation approved by the Government or any special fund allocation, to bear any expenses, to procure the goods, services or equipment necessary for the use of the Board, and to execute the necessary agreements or agreements;(b) the Government for the purpose of preparing or receiving any plan or scheme, any agency, local government institution or agency or any agency or the government may, with the permission of the government, receive advice or assistance from any foreign government or agency; (c) coordinate the implementation of the policies formulated by the government for rural development and its related activities.
