This Order enters into force immediately.
Résumé

This Order, consisting of 23 sections, provides for the establishment of an Atomic Energy Commission for the promotion of the peaceful uses of atomic energy in Bangladesh. In addition, it establishes the discharge of International obligations connected therewith, the undertaking of research, the execution of development projects involving nuclear power stations and matters incidental thereto. In pursuance of paragraph 3 of the Fourth Schedule to the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Commission, entitled to perform necessary research for the promotion of the peaceful uses of atomic energy in the fields of agriculture, medicine, industry, development of related technology and electronic equipment and appliances, and for the execution of development projects involving nuclear power stations and the generation of electric power thereat, and to carry out space and upper atmosphere research. The Commission may, on behalf and with the approval of the Government, perform other functions relating to the peaceful uses of atomic energy and space and upper atmosphere research, and on such terms and conditions, as may be agreed upon between the Commission and the Government.
