Résumé

The Act consolidate and amend the laws relating to protection, conservation, management and sustainable development of forests, rangelands and other renewable natural resources in the Balochistan Province. The Act describes the power of government to make the whole or any part of the forest-land or waste-land as reserved forest. In case of existence of any objection to constitute any land as reserved forest, a forest settlement board shall treat the claim. In Chapter two the Act outlines the power of government for nominating any forest-land or waste-land as protected forest, and power to close forests and prohibit certain acts and to make rules for the protected forests. The Act further describes the orders that government can make for protection of forests such as prohibiting or regulating the breaking up or clearing of land for cultivation; the pasturing of cattle; or the firing or clearing of the vegetation. The text further provides for the manner on declaration of community forest reserve, management conditions, joint management by local organisations, and prohibited acts. The Act provides as well on constitution of the forest force and the scope of its power and duties.
