It also provides for, among other things - notification and licensing for those who want to engage in activities or practices involving radiation sources, nuclear material or any radioactive materials; responsibilities of a licensee; inspection and enforcement and compliance monitoring; fundamental radiation safety principles to apply to activities and practices in Malawi involving radiation sources, nuclear material or any radioactive materials; emergency response and preparedness to accidents or incidents and other emergencies; radioactive waste management; the transportation of radioactive material; mining and processing.
