Entry into force notes

The Act enters into force on 1 January 2017.

Résumé

The Act determines principles for the protection of atmospheric air in Estonia. It provides for the requirements set for affecting ambient air by chemical and physical pollutants; the measures for maintaining and improving the quality of ambient air; the requirements for protection of ozone layer; the measures for mitigation of climate changes and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; the organisation of state supervision over compliance with the requirements provided for in this Act; and the liability for failure to comply with the requirements.
