They require animals to be imported only under a licence granted by an authorized officer. The authorized officer may, if he or she has reasonable cause to believe that any animal is infected with any disease scheduled in the Second Schedule to these Regulations, refuse to permit the introduction of such animal into St. Helena. Every person having in his possession or under his charge an animal infected or believed to be infected with any scheduled disease shall keep those animals separate and notify the authorities. Other regulations concern seizure of animals, slaughter, notification of deaths and movement of restricted animals.
