Résumé This Act aims at regulating the alternative breastfeeding and infant food, commercially prepared and use of additional equipment (Marketing Control). It establishes protection and encouragement of breastfeeding, and at prohibiting the advertisement, import, distribution and sale of breast-milk substitutes. Furthermore, breast-milk substitutes shall have to be sold under certain conditions as per their labelling, in particular: the name of the product printed in the same size font size 'mother's milk or its equivalent'; batch number, registration number and date of manufacture and expiry date; material used and its analysis; instructions relating to conservation; any other prescribed particulars. Contravening companies shall be deemed guilty and legally prosecuted. The definition of what has to be intended as breast-milk substitutes is reported in the text.
