The Act was originally for the Northwest Territories and subsequently adapted by the Territory of Nunavut. Section 2 establishes that a producer may submit to the Council a proposal for the establishment of a Plan for the regulation by a producer board of the marketing of an agricultural product. The text – consisting of 35 sections – deals with the following aspects: definitions, establishment of plan, appeal, Council, producer boards, agencies, enforcement, offences and punishment and miscellaneous.
