Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force in such areas and on such dates as the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify and appoint.
Résumé

This Act empowers the Government to declare any market to be a notified market and establishes the figure of the market functionary, as an intermediary between the producer and the seller. Market functionaries may operate in a notified market only in possession of a licence issued by the Agricultural Marketing Department. Requirements and procedures for obtaining a licence are set out in the text.
