Résumé This Administrative Regulation lays down the types of preservatives and antioxidants permitted in foodstuff, the categories of foodstuff which enable them to be used and the maximum residue limits of use of certain preservatives and antioxidants in specific categories of foodstuff with a view to safeguarding hygiene and food safety. The table of preservatives and antioxidants permitted for use and dosage, as set out in the Annex is approved. This Regulation shall not apply to the following foodstuff and food additives: 1) foodstuff intended for particular dietetic uses, other than infant formulas, food for children, infant formulas, infant formulas for special medical purposes, as food supplements for infants and young children; 2) Lecithin; 3) Tocopherol; 4) Lactic acid, ascorbic acid, erythorbic acid, citric acid, malic acid, phosphoric acid, tartaric acid or calcium, potassium or sodium salts of such acids; 5) Glycerol, alcohol, isopropanol, propylene glycol, monoacetin, diacetin or triacetin; 6) Spices or essential oils; 7) carbon dioxide, nitrogen or hydrogen used in the sealed package for foodstuffs; 8) Ascorbic acid salts or esters; 9) Calcium, potassium or sodium gluconate salts; 10) Acetic acid and glyceride of fatty acid or lactic acid and glyceride of fatty acid.
