It is a cross-sectoral plan with national coverage for the 2011-2016 period. The Plan provides Ireland’s vision for biodiversity: that biodiversity and ecosystem in Ireland are conserved and restored, delivering benefits essential for all sectors of society and that Ireland contributes to efforts to halt the loss of biodiversity and the degradation of ecosystems in the EU and globally. The measures Ireland will take under the overall Plan are presented in a series of strategic objectives. These objectives include a series of relevant targets, actions, indicators and outcomes.
