Action Plan for Gender Equality Promotion and Child Labour Elimination in the Fisheries Sector 2016-2020.

The general objective or goal of the action plan is “to improve gender equality and eliminate child labour in the fisheries sector”, which will contribute to the improvement of small-scale fisheries management with good governance and poverty reduction in the long run. To achieve the above goal, the following specific objectives were identified: build capacity at all levels on gender equality and child labour in the fisheries sector. promote gender roles’ economic empowerment through good practices of Community Fisheries management. prevent child labour and hazardous work in the fisheries sector. improve monitoring and evaluation mechanisms on gender equality and child labour addressing in the sector.
