The sovereignty of the Republic of Liberia extends to the air space over the territorial sea as well as to its bed and sub-soil (sect. 4). The contiguous zone shall extend to a distance of 12 nautical miles (sect. 5). The Territorial Sea is defined as " the water contained in the zone of belt adjacent to the Republic of Liberia which is under its jurisdiction as regarded as part of its territory" (sect. 1).
