Résumé The purpose of this Act is to ensure appropriate veterinary care by establishing the necessary matters for the establishment and management of medical facilities for domestic animals and the provision of systems for providing veterinary care. A person who opened a medical facility must notify the prefectural governor who has jurisdiction over the location of the medical facility within 10 days from the date of establishment of the medical facility. The same shall apply when the medical facility is suspended or abolished, or the reported items are changed. The structural facilities of the medical facility must conform to the standards specified by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. For veterinarians who carry out medical care for domestic animals only through home visits the provisions of Article 3 shall apply. Basic matters concerning the mutual functions and business coordination of the four medical facilities and other facilities related to veterinary medicines.
