Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force on 1 January 2016. However, sections 4 and 5 of the Act enter into force on 1 January 2017.
Résumé

This Act makes provisions with respect to certain other measures to prevent and mitigate the adverse impacts of alien species. It lays down the supplementary provisions on the application of Regulation (EU) No 1143/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species (IAS Regulation). Alien species, invasive alien species, biodiversity, eradication and containment are defined by Article 3 of the IAS Regulation. An alien species shall not be kept, bred, planted or sown or otherwise handled in a way that they may be released into the environment. The Act defines duties of authorities and operators, i.e. person who on a professional basis produces, stores, places on the market, transports, passes on or sells or otherwise conveys a product or material in which on the basis of generally available knowledge an invasive alien species included in the Union list or an invasive alien species of national concern specified by Government Decree.
