It sets emission goals for climate-damaging substances. The Act shall promote transparency and public debate on the status, direction and progress of work towards this goal. The Law shall not prevent the achievement of climate objectives laid down in or pursuant to this Act together with the European Union. The Act implements obligations on greenhouse gases an emission decided by the Paris Agreement of 2015. The King in Council may, by Regulation, decide that the Law shall also apply to other emissions and removals of greenhouse gases than those covered by the Agreement.
