Résumé The Act consolidates and amends the law relating to the acquisition of land for public works and other public purposes. It consists of 51 sections (grouped into 6 Parts) and completed by two Schedules. Part 2 defines which are the purposes for which land may be taken, the procedures for notification and objections and the means by which land may be taken. Part 3 deals with the discontinuance of taking land, Part 4 with compensation while Part 5 and 6 deal with general and transitional matters. The Schedule spells out which are the purposes for which land may be taken under and subject to this Act.
